## Product video worksheet and recording checklist

Use this with https://www.vidmoat.com/startups
Guide: https://www.vidmoat.com/blog/saas-product-demo-video

### 1. The brief
- Product name:
- Who is watching:
- The one task or problem:
- The feature the recording will demonstrate:
- The actual outcome we can show:
- One call to action and its destination:
- Where this video will appear:
- Target length / aspect ratio:
- Brand colours, logo, typography and tone:
- Narration supplied, text-only, or discuss voice options:

### 2. Before recording
- [ ] Use a demonstration account with sample data.
- [ ] Remove private information, API keys and unrelated tabs.
- [ ] Disable desktop notifications.
- [ ] Set readable, consistent browser zoom.
- [ ] Prepare the initial state so the workflow can be repeated.
- [ ] Check the microphone and make a short test recording if narrating.
- [ ] Record the workflow and its finished result.
- [ ] Leave a short pause before and after important actions.
- [ ] Save the original recording and logo separately.
- [ ] Mark inspiration files as style references, not footage to include.

### 3. A 60-second story to adapt
- 0–5s: Name the problem in one sentence.
- 5–12s: Show the product and the useful outcome.
- 12–35s: Demonstrate one real workflow.
- 35–48s: Show its finished result.
- 48–60s: Invite the viewer to one next step.

These timings are an example, not a requirement. Give complex steps enough time.

### 4. Review before export
- [ ] The interface and claims match the actual product.
- [ ] No invented results, customer logos or testimonials.
- [ ] Important controls and text are readable on a phone.
- [ ] Titles and captions do not cover the demonstrated action.
- [ ] Captions match the spoken words.
- [ ] Music leaves narration clear.
- [ ] No private data is visible or audible.
- [ ] The CTA and destination are correct.
- [ ] Asset and music permissions cover the intended use.
- [ ] The exported file plays all the way through correctly.

### 5. Follow-up versions
Make and review one version at a time:
- A 15–30 second feature close-up for LinkedIn or X.
- A 15–20 second vertical teaser for Reels or Shorts.
- An alternative opening hook using the same demonstrated feature.
- A fuller tutorial for customers who want to follow the steps.

Vidmoat plans, AI credits and export allowances apply. Optional expert work is
quoted separately. The kit is a guided workflow, not a guaranteed video bundle.
