What it does
No green screen? Remove BG finds the person in your clip and removes what is behind them, leaving transparency, a colour, an image or another clip. Shot on green? The chroma key pulls a matte, and you can pick the key colour straight from the preview.
Everything composites live in the preview, so you can grade and position the result before you export. AI removal is made for people; hair and things passing in front of the subject can be hard, so check the edges.
How to use it
- Select your clip and open the Background section in the FX tab.
- Press Add Remove BG, or add a chroma key and pick the key colour.
- Choose a new background, then export.

Do I need a green screen?
No. Remove BG works on ordinary footage of people. A chroma key is there if you did shoot on green.
Does it work on objects, not people?
AI background removal is made for people. To cut out any object, use object isolation.
